Walhampton offers friendly and affordable golf on a well constructed course at the southern edge of the New Forest.
The course overlooks the Solent at Lymington and has high quality USGA specification greens and many attractive features. The 9 holes measure around 2,500 yards with five par 4's, three par 3's and a par 5. Visitors are welcome and we can cater for societies in association with local partners.
The course - The nine holes range from around 100 to 515 yards with 550 m ˛ greens built to USGA specification. The ground is free draining and so far we have rarely had to close after heavy rain. There are different tee positions on the back 9 for golfers playing 18 holes.
The course was designed by Bruce and David Weller ( Weller Designs of Farnham,
http://www.wellerdesigns.co.uk), members of the European Institute of Golf Course Architects. Past clients include Clive Clark, Peter McEvoy , Bernhard Langer and American Golf.
The greens contractor was Mike Smith (M J Smith). Mike has worked on some of the finest courses in the UK including The Gloucestershire, Turnberry and The Belfry. He is widely acknowledged to be one of the best shapers of greens and surrounds in the country.
