Forest Edge is an ideal spot for a relaxing holiday and a great location for touring the whole of the New Forest region.
Forest Edge is surrounded by the New Forest with many woodland and moorland tracks for you to explore on foot, cycle or horseback. We are fortunate to have a wide variety of wild birds and animals living around us - it is often possible to watch wild deer from our property. The Forest is an ancient home to a huge variety of wildlife including Red, Sika and Fallow deer, ponies, donkeys and even domestic pigs and cattle.
Although called a "Forest", much of the New Forest is open heathland and moorland covered in heather, gorse and general scrub. The woodland is a mixture of large areas of ancient broadleaved trees and more recent, managed coniferous plantations. The Forestry Commission have laid many tracks through these for walking and cycling. Maps are available from the visitor centres.
